DEPRESSION

Hey Royalties
How have you all been? How has your past weeks been? It’s been a while since I last posted due to school stress and activities but ill really try to be consistent.
Depression seems to be the latest thing around town. People who don’t know what depression is claim to be depressed, People who are SAD claim depression. I know there are lots of people that are actually DEPRESSED but then it is something I know that can be sorted out through lots of gradual and consistent process and not feel like that is the end of the road. So today we are going to be talking about DEPRESSION.
WHAT REALLY IS DEPRESSION?
DEPRESSION is a mood or emotional state that is marked by feelings of low self-worth or guilt and a reduced ability to enjoy life. The devil tries to make us capitalise on our UNPLEASANT situations and make us feel as though it’s the end. A MOOD OR EMOTIONAL STATE IS ONLY BUT TEMPORAL. Truth is things are bound to happen. Things that might seem overwhelming, cost us happiness but then it is not the end of it. The bible in John 16:33 says “These things I have spoken to you, that in ME (Jesus Christ) you might have peace. In the WORLD, you shall have TRIBULATION but be of GOOD CHEER, I (JESUS) have OVERCOME the WORLD.
It is not enough to talk about a problem/ challenge/ issue but also to proffer a solution or a way out of the problem. I might not be a therapist/ professional but below are some ways you move your way out of depression. (I STAND TO BE CORRECTED).
·         ALWAYS TALK TO GOD
Prayer is a means of communicating to and with God. God loves you and he understands whatever you going through. You might be going through something now which is as a form of preparation for another battle you might be facing later. So talk to him, tell HIM to grant you strength and peace. God is the best person to talk to. Personally, if I am going through stuffs and I pray to God, I have this inner peace and that is why God is needed. Just talk to HIM and you will be better.
·         SEEK HELP
Speak to people /individuals you trust and would take you seriously like a therapist or a much matured trustworthy good friend
·         ALWAYS FILTER WHAT YOU HEAR
People get depressed because of insults or things they hear about what is been said about them but you should know that there are lots of haters and “bad belle” people who don’t worth your happiness and so you should ignore. I mean people who barely know you spread a lot of negative things about you and so for a fact that they just know your name and not YOU should be a reason to ignore whatever negative comments or talks said about you.
·         DO NOT WAIT OR DEPEND ON THE VALIDATION OF OTHERS
Some people get “depressed” because lots of people say they are ugly which would lead to the individual having low self-esteem but I mean they didn’t create you. What you think of yourself is what people will think of you. If you see yourself as beautiful and your parents/ real friends tell you that you are, nobody's opinion counts. God that created you said you are WONDERFULLY and FEARFULLY made and so don’t let anyone that can’t create a paper make you feel what you are not. Always validate yourself. There was a point in my life I used to feel “verrrrrrry” ugly and isolate myself because I always thought I was not to be with other people but the moment I started looking into the mirror and daily telling myself that I am pretty and I started carrying myself as a queen that I am, everything changed. My self- esteem and confidence got boosted.
·         AVOID OVERTHINKING
Overthinking is thinking too deep or too much instead of taking an action. When you think too much, instead of acting and doing things, you are overthinking. When you examine, comment and repeat the same thoughts OVER AND AGAIN, instead of acting, you are overthinking. This habit prevents you from taking action. It eats up your energy, hinders your ability to make sound decisions, and puts you on a cycle of thinking and thinking over and again. This is a kind of thinking that wastes your time and energy and prevents you from acting, doing new things and making progress in your life. In this situation there is more likelihood for worry, anxiety and lack of inner peace, depression. On the other hand, when you don’t overthink, you become more efficient, more peaceful and happier.
·         STOP SEEING YOURSELF AS A VICTIM OF THE CIRUMSTANCE
Yes whatever happened and made you feel the way you feel actually happened but then stop putting yourself in a pitiable state and stand with bravery. I mean if you keep getting sad about whatever happened, you will be limited. Always tell yourself that yes the issue is real and is something that can make me sad but I choose not to be sad, I choose to embrace courage. IT IS FINE TO BREAK DOWN, IT IS FINE TO CRY BUT THEN AFTER THAT WHAT NEXT?- A BRAVE ACTION OF MOVING FORWARD BY TAKING A STEP AT A TIME
·         BE OPTIMISTIC
Always look at the bright side of things. Know that you are not the first person to go through what you are going through.  Some people went through it and came out victorious. It might seem overwhelming now but then just know it’s a phase that will surely pass by. Just keep pushing through and surround yourself with REAL people who are willing to help you and not make fun of you or use your story or issue as a joke or some sort of “gist”.
·         KNOW THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A SECOND CHANCE
People get depressed because they failed or have been failing for a long time but failure doesn’t make it the end. KEEP PUSHING and you will scale through. Determination helps a lot. Know that there is always a second chance to try harder. The bible says  in Proverbs 24:16 “FOR THOUGH A RIGHTEOUS MAN FALLS SEVEN TIMES, HE WILL GET UP, BUT THE WICKED WILL STUMBLE INTO RUIN
·         SAY NO TO SUICIDE
Suicide is NEVER an option and would never be. You don’t own your life and so you have no right to take it because it’s a gift given to you by GOD and when there is life there is hope. Know that you live for others- I mean, you were created for a purpose that has to be fulfilled. KNOW THAT NO SITUATION OF ANY KIND IS WORTH YOUR LIFE. So don’t think whatever is happening is the end, there is always a bright side at the end of the tunnel. Remember GOD gat you in this and would surely never forsake you.
I will conclude by saying YOU HAVE AN ESSENCE IN LIFE, NOTHING IS WORTH YOUR LIFE AND MENTAL STABILITY, EMOTIONAL STABILITY. GOD WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR / WITH YOU WHEN YOU CALL UPON HIM, BRACE UP, GO AND CONQUER AND BE VICTORIOUS. EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

Your comments and contributions are highly welcomed and you can also ask questions if you have any. Have a lovely week and God bless you. #Onelove.

Nice post ma'am!....
Its very important, that we do not need to seek the validation of people to be who we are.I mean, we should be unapologetically ourselves!...we are all different individuals, so we should love ourselves despite the differences....
It's also very very important we filter what we hear...it goes a long way in helping our thought process, it could save one from "depression"

Very real talk here. I do agree that most times people just want to be associated with depression and the pity that comes with it not knowing that they are planting a seed actually. I believe also that a close and intentional relationship with God also limits the chances of depression cause you experience joy even in sad moments. Well done baby girl
